Movie Themed Party

My sister is one of the hardest people to surprise. She is an extremely organized person and has her life planned out months in advance. Rachel is graduating at the end of April with a Master's Degree, a full time employ, and planning a wedding in September. So needless to say she is extremely busy.

Last November I was determined to throw her a surprise party for her 28th birthday. The theme was easy to come up with since she loves movies. I saw an idea on Pintrest and decided to give it a try. I hung black and silver balloons upside down from the ceiling. It looked festive, but with a more grown up twist.
Since this was a grown-up birthday party we only had one game with movie trivia. Of course, Rachel won. :-)

For the menu, we had all a movie goer's favorites snacks: Nachos, popcorn, and candy. I cut out black and white pictures of old Hollywood stars, used red glass pebbles, and votive candles for the table scape decor.

The party favors were made up of bags of popcorn and M&M's tied together with a white ribbon and a movie themed thank you for coming note.

We had a great time at the party, and most importantly Rachel had a blast.
