The Best Present Ever

Have you ever given your spouse the best gift ever? Last Saturday, Kevin and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. We had the best date, and thanks to my awesome sister, we didn't have to pay for a babysitter.
Since Kevin's birthday was June 16th, Father's Day was the same day, and our anniversary was a week later I was at a loss for what to give him. Kevin asked for a law mower, so I got that as his gift for Father's Day. I know, I was surprised too.

The Friday before his birthday I was scouring the web looking for the perfect gift. It hit me all the sudden that I should check out Groupon. Within 2 minutes I found the perfect gift. A 90 minute introductory flight lesson. Kevin has always wanted to get his pilot's license since before he joined the Air Force.

I printed that puppy out, and it took everything within me not to spill the beans. I had to wait until after dinner the next day to give him the present. Talk about tormenting someone! Finally he opened it, and I think it took a while for it to sink in. He was super excited and I was thrilled that I actually gave him a gift he would use.

Since it was an expensive gift I told him it would have to be for his birthday and anniversary. He was so happy he didn't care. By the next Friday he was in the air flying for the very first time (as a pilot).

All weekend he spoke of nothing else, and he has been playing a flying simulator game on his iPad everyday. I think his next gift may be the pilot's license. Better start saving now. :-)
