6 Tips for Haggling

Don't you love the thrill of the hunt? You know what your budget is, you know what you are looking for, and you are ready to bargain shop. Garage sales and flea markets are a breeding ground for great deals and where the art of haggling takes on a life of its own.

I don't think of myself as someone that likes confrontation. But put me in a haggling match, and I am a happy camper. It is a stress reliever and a thrill to see if I can get the best for the lowest price. I know I'm weird.

When I am on the hunt for my next treasure or party decor, I keep these 6 things in mind.
*Get cash out before you head out on your great hunt.
*Set your budget and stick to it.
*Research the item you are looking for, and know the price the item is going for in your area.
*Have a specific list of what you want or need to buy that day.
*When starting to haggle, start lower then you are willing to pay. Know the price you will not exceed.
*Be willing to walk away if the price is not right.

Haggling is a friendly mind game and cash is king. Do you have any tips for haggling?

Happy bargain hunting,
