Lighting Up: Fairy Berries Lights and Lighted Balloons

One party that I planned in February wanted the feeling of a 60's lounge. The lights were to be dim, and the DJ played 60's inspired music. The hostess bought Fairy Berries LED lights for the vases and lighted balloons to be placed in with the regular, helium filled balloons.

The Fairy Berries lights were amazing, and they gave a wonderful glow to the tablescape. One note of caution: if you have a regular manicure then you will ruin it opening the fairy lights to turn them on. The good thing is they are easy to turn on once you get them open, and they last a very long time. They are water proof, look great against clear beads in vases. I would definitely use them again.

On the other hand, I was not so impressed with the lighted balloons. As you can see in the picture, they did not hold the helium very long at all. Half way through a 4 hour party half of the lighted balloons were on the floor. They were barely noticeable even in a dim room. The room would have to be completely dark to see the lighted balloons. I would not go to the trouble next time of using these balloons. Since that was the only hitch to the party, we still called it a huge success.

Have you had any great party ideas that didn't turn out the way you thought it would?

  1. Howdy, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam comments? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can suggest? I get so much lately it’s driving me insane so any assistance is very much appreciated. Balloons Bouquet

    1. Hi Emma. I do get quite a bit of spam comments. I have a setting on my site that lets me read the comments before they are posted. It seems to work the best for me. Best of luck!
